I am currently a private pay, out-of-network provider. While I don't accept insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost.
I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you have option to only pay your co-pay for our sessions once you meet your deductible instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursement. This typically allows clients to save on average 70% on our sessions.
During our consultation or intake process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-pay would be.
Most insurances are accepted at Thrizer. Usually PPO plans are covered, HMO plans aren’t. During a consult call I can check what your benefits are; you can also contact your insurance provider to confirm what is covered for you.
Note: Thrizer’s goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional to use insurance. Whether you use insurance or not all billing, even private pay clients not using their insurance, is done in Thrizer.
Note about Thrizer
While you work towards your deductible, you do not pay any fees. It’s FREE
They charge a 5% fee (of my rate) if you would like to just pay a copay once you meet your deductible; you will pay that fee at the time of our session along with your copay.
If you are okay paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursement, you have the option to choose that route instead for just a 1% fee. That fee gets deducted from the reimbursement that comes to your bank account.

Thrizer will be able to instantly check your benefits for you. We can go over this during initial phone consultation.
Once you meet your deductible, you may have anywhere from 60-80% coverage.
I can’t guarantee what your benefits are or how much of session fees insurance will pay. If using insurance is important to you, the best practice would be for you to call your insurance to double check and ask them the following questions:
Does my plan cover Out of Network mental health or behavioral health benefits?
Do I need to meet a deductible; if so what is deductible amount?
What is my co-pay amount after deductible is met?
Is pre-authorization required?
Are there any diagnosis excluded from coverage?

Therapy is an investment in yourself. My rate is based on my high quality of care, professional experience and training.
However, I do strive to make therapy accessible as much as possible. Therefore, I do have limited reduced rate slots available, and they are usually reserved for those who have financial barriers.
We can also discuss using your out of network benefits - you may get 60-80% coverage once you meet your deductible.
If you determine you can not afford the full rate we can have a discussion to decide what options are available to you. I can also recommend therapist(s) within your budget.

I like to do a free 15 minute intro call with all potential new clients before scheduling our first session to help us determine if we are a good fit.
We will discuss:
your goals and hopes from therapy
answer your questions
logistics like insurance, fee, scheduling
my approach as a therapist
I’m collaborative - I can consider myself an expert at what I do but I am not an expert on your life
I like to guide and let you guide as needed
I don’t just listen and validate
I help you understand the root of the issue and break out of cycles and heal wounds through mind-body connection.

Yes! I work Monday to Thursday 1-7:30 and Friday and Saturday by appointment and necessity at my discretion.

That depends on you. I’ve had client’s, depending on the various presenting concerns, complete therapy satisfactorily anywhere between 15 sessions to 1.5+ years of sessions. It depends on you, and what you want to get out of it, and if your goals evolve etc.
Either way you are in the drivers seat and you have the autonomy to make the ultimate decision of when you want to start, pause, or end therapy.
My goal isn’t to keep you in therapy but help you build your resilience so you feel confident and empowered to face life’s challenges with the tools and resources you will build during our work together.

If you’d like to chat with me please schedule a FREE 15 minute phone consultation. We will discuss why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to get out of it. We will decide together if we both believe we are a good fit for one another. Then we will schedule our first Intake session.
I’ll send you some documents to sign before our first session and a link to our virtual session.
The first few sessions are all about getting to know you and your story and setting up goals for therapy. We will schedule weekly or biweekly sessions at this time.
We will periodically check-in and refer back to goals to review progress. Then when we determine you are progressing into “maintenance mode” you will transition from weekly to bi-weekly and/or monthly frequency of sessions. Monthly sessions are reserved for those who are ready to terminate within 3 months and just need check-ins.
No Surprise Act
Please note that you are not required to get care out-of-network. You can choose a provider in your plan’s network, which may lower your out-of-pocket costs for therapy. Antara only offers out-of-network services.
If you are seeking in-network care, you can contact your insurance company to find a therapist who is in your network. You can also search for in-network providers using filters on online therapist directories, such as psychologytoday.com, inclusivetherapists.com, therapyden.com etc.
Our website and service agreements clearly state our out-of-network status and your financial responsibilities. Please read all of your paperwork carefully and don’t hesitate to ask your therapist if you have any financial questions. However, if you believe you’ve been wrongly billed, email anusha@antaracw.com and/or the Texas State Behavioral Health Executive Council (https://www.bhec.texas.gov/).
The “No Surprises Act” was signed into law to protect consumers from surprise medical bills, and applies to Emergency Centers and certain In-Network medical Facilities. Our therapy practice does not fall into either of these health service categories. You may visit https://www.cms.gov/files/document/model-disclosure-notice-patient-protections-against-surprise-billing-providers-facilities-health.pdf for more information about your rights under Federal law.
Good Faith Estimates
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. While you will clearly know exactly what you are financially responsible for in therapy and there’s no opportunity for surprise costs, (this law is meant to protect consumers from surprise medical billing), all healthcare providers (including therapists) are now required to notify clients of their Federal rights to an estimate of the cost of services, to avoid any “surprise billing”.
You will receive a GFE within 48 business hours of your written request.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
